Ms. Pearlie Mae Jackson’s White Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread (any kind of bread, doughnuts, biscuits, leftover dinner rolls, sliced bread, etc. It doesn’t matter as long as it can fit in a 9x13 inch pan.)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 TBSP butter, melted
  • Second layer:
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Topping:
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 4 oz white chocolate
  • 3 oz powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1 tsp rum
  • 5 tsp water

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray pan with PAM.
  3. Cube bread, into 2“ cubes.
  4. Put the bread into the sprayed pan.
  5. Mix together milk, sugar,eggs,vanilla, and margarine and pour over the bread.
  6. Mix cinnamon , 1 TBSP of sugar and pecans and sprinkle over the top of the bread mixture.
  7. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.
  8. In a small sauce pan melt the butter and chocolate on low heat.
  9. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, rum and water, add to the melted chocolate and stir until smooth.
  10. Pour over hot bread pudding, serve warm.
